Shopping, Laughter & Suit Fittings: A Lighthearted Day in Hannam

Not every moment of the Peace Starts With Me trip to Korea has to be spiritual ceremonies and serene landscapes—sometimes, peace comes in the form of laughter, community, and a little bit of shopping.
On this particular day, the team made their way to Hannam, a growing neighborhood just outside Seoul known for its trendy cafes, scenic river views, and high-end shopping. Their destination? Starfield Mall, one of Korea’s premier luxury shopping centers.
Accompanying the group was a young man from Europe—soon to be engaged to Demian Dunkley’s daughter. And with the blessing ceremony fast approaching, the mission was clear: find him a suit.
👕 The Quest for a Suit
The first stop was Uniqlo, a well-known clothing brand. But when you’re 6’4″, even the best-stocked stores can be a challenge. After plenty of laughs (and Croc jokes), it became clear that a custom fit was the only option.
That led the group to Christina Han, a boutique owned by Holy Mother’s brand, known for tailored suits, elegant dresses, and accessories—perfect for formal celebrations and wedding events. It was a one-stop shop, conveniently located near the main complex.
Mark sent his measurements in advance, and the team gathered to watch the first fitting—complete with playful modeling poses, tailoring tweaks, and compliments from the staff. His suit would be ready in a few days, just in time.
☕ Laughter, Local Flavor & Lights
In between fittings, the group soaked in the energy of Hannam—meeting locals, petting dogs in baby strollers, and sharing conversations over the search for something to eat. Korean hospitality, once again, proved warm and genuine—even in the midst of a busy shopping day.
This joyful experience reminded us all: peace begins in the simple, shared moments. Whether it’s dancing on a boat or tailoring a suit, when hearts are open, the spirit of unity shines through.
