A Sacred Pause in Korea: Hannah Dunkley’s Engagement Ceremony

Post Image

While the Peace Starts With Me team was in Korea for global summits, interfaith conferences, and cultural celebrations, one deeply personal and spiritual moment reminded everyone what this movement is truly about: family, commitment, and the beauty of God-centered love.

In the midst of a busy schedule, Demian Dunkley and his family took a quiet pause to celebrate the engagement of his daughter Hannah Dunkley and her fiancé Mark—a moment that reflected the deeper purpose behind every gathering: building lasting peace through family.

🫖 The Ceremony at Hanwon Jib

The ceremony was held at Hanwon Jib, a traditional Korean tea house where the Dunkley family rented out the top floor to host an intimate commitment ceremony.

About 30 close friends and family members gathered in a warm, welcoming space to witness the engagement. Although the energy of the World Summit pulsed in the background, this was a moment that slowed everything down. It was about presence. Purpose. And peace.

As the two families—Dunkley and Kutte—came together, there was a clear sense that something sacred was unfolding. Not only between two young people, but between two lineages, two cultures, and two communities—brought together through faith.

🕊️ Words, Music, and a Father’s Blessing

During the ceremony, heartfelt words were shared, not just about love, but about the divine role each person plays in God’s larger design. Hannah and Mark were celebrated as a daughter and son of God who chose to unite with intention, humility, and joy.

A song played with the lyric:

“You’re where I belong… with you by my side, feels like the rain is gone.”

That lyric echoed what so many were feeling—a sense of divine alignment and gratitude.

🍽️ Faith, Family, and Takgalbi

Following the ceremony, guests shared a joyful meal together—Takgalbi, a Korean grilled chicken dish that filled the room with warmth and celebration.

Though brief, the engagement celebration left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. It was a beautiful reminder that peace starts in the home, and that commitment—when rooted in faith—creates unity that ripples across generations.

🌍 A Moment That Reflects the Mission

This special engagement wasn’t just about two people coming together—it was about the deeper mission of Peace Starts With Me: restoring the family, honoring God’s design for love, and showing the world what unity truly looks like.

From public stages to private moments, the message remains the same:

Peace starts with love.
Peace starts with commitment.
Peace starts with me.
